IPQA® – In Process Quality Assurance
It can take ten times longer to inspect a part than make a part. Post-process inspection is costly, a bottleneck to one-piece flow, subject to human interpretation, and may miss subtle defects that are life-limiting.
IPQA® is a real-time non-destructive inspection (NDI) method that enables manufacturers to accept the greatest volume of product without costly and time-consuming post process inspection. IPQA provides sensor-based, real-time, on-machine assessment of part and process quality.
IPQA® uses real-time, on-machine sensors to measure process deviations from expected behavior. As such, it can see very subtle variations from part-to-part over the lifetime of the manufacturing process. IPQA® can be applied to both existing processes and new processes.
IPQA® discriminates between and sorts acceptable product from suspect product thereby improving throughput and reducing scrap. The benefits from implementing IPQA® are scrap reduction, inspection cost avoidance, and increased process knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
